Single Room Supplement: $600 (main trip only/not available for pre-trip experience)
Head to the Caribbean coast during the tail end of Leatherback nesting season. Work with biologists as you patrol the beaches at night, looking for nesting mothers and relocating nests to a protected hatchery. Release hatchlings and watch them scurry into the sea. **Please note that nature is unpredictable and turtle encounters cannot be guaranteed.
This itinerary is designed for teachers who want to experience Costa Rica while also participating in educator professional development sessions. If you are unsure if this trip is for you, please contact the trip leader listed above.
Flights are not included in the cost of this trip. You will be responsible for booking your own flights to SJO airport and returning home from LIR airport. Please note that the arrival and departure airports are different. More details will be provided about flight planning closer to the trip dates.
This itinerary is designed primarily with average and above average Costa Rican accommodations. Pricing is based on double occupancy at most hotels. Please note that the turtle station cabins are extremely rustic and rooms may be triples or quads.
This itinerary includes activities that are moderate in intensity such as half-day hikes on park trails.
Learn how to create phenomena-driven lessons featuring phenomena that we experience in Costa Rica! This is ideal for science teachers ready to teach in three-dimensions (e.g. NGSS).

Our trips are designed so that you can focus on the educational experience, professional development, and adventure. The cost of the trip includes guide(s), in-country transportation, teacher professional development sessions, tips for activities/meals, accommodations, most meals, activity and entrance fees.
$300 non-refundable deposit due at registration
For the core trip, 6 payments of $475 on the 1st of each month January 2025 to June 2025
For the pre-trip Turtle Program, a $60 deposit and payments of $117.50 following the same schedule above.
